Have you heard Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons and/or Fraser Crane from Cheers or the eponymous spin-off?

Then you've heard Kelsey Grammer.

HELLO MILITARY!? Where the hell is the goddamned military?!

Reply Heliotroph (Guest), December 21st, 2013, 12:00 am

Wouldn't do any good.

No matter how well-trained, how numerous they are, no matter how advanced the weaponry, the armed forces are never a match for the villain, at best providing a momentary distraction or an opportunity to demonstrate how powerful/destructive/evil the antagonist is. Doubly so for law enforcement. It's a law of narrative causality.

And the military really can't respond that quickly in any case :P
