"Outside of me?"

Reply pensuka, July 21st, 2013, 12:30 pm

i wonder whats her origin story since both hero's and villans have a origin

Reply Heliotroph (Guest), July 21st, 2013, 1:11 pm

Oh dear, tentacles...

And thanks for clearing up the fact she's a villain before we get to see any of her actions...

Reply pensuka, July 21st, 2013, 5:00 pm

@Heliotroph: its kind of simple hidden lab in a abandon building mysterious experiment and black cloths a classic villian senerio

Reply Heliotroph (Guest), July 21st, 2013, 5:40 pm

@pensuka: Hence making her a good guy, neutral, or at least ambiguous would be more interesting. Her morals/intentions do not preclude her from getting into a conflict with Dolly and Friends (TM) in any case; maybe there's a misunderstanding or she has genuinely good intentions but didn't think it through, etc. Outright stating she's the villain kills the mystery and a lot of potential.

@Heliotroph: true and yet we dont know her origin stoy without knowing of that we cant be 100% if she is really a neatral or villian like i said both hero and villians have origins example freeze from batman was in a cryo accident before he became a villian

@M: That doesn't sound good.

Reply M (Guest), July 22nd, 2013, 11:13 am

@Erik Warhammer Indeed. What kind of substance is she trying to stabilize? And why is it already present in her body?

Reply Lord T Hawkeye, July 22nd, 2013, 11:39 am

@M: It's actually her blood.

"Outright stating she's the villain kills the mystery and a lot of potential. "
There was no mystery anyway. I thought it was kinda obvious...creepy looking mad scientist working at a dubious looking makeshift lab... I really don't think she's making cough medicine here.
You really need to stop hitting the "SHALLOW CHARATER!!" alarm button without a full understanding of things.

I never said she was a shallow character; I'm saying it's better to show rather than tell. The abandoned warehouse and mysterious research by a mutated scientist does cry "villain" but it doesn't make it a certainty, and uncertainty is interesting and draws readers in. Outright stating "yeah, he's a bad guy," takes this away. It's honestly a very minor criticism (though I probably shouldn't have employed sarcasm making it).
